About the Club
No Dues. No Politics. No Egos.
No Elections. No Criticism. No Pressure.
NMMA is a model
club open to anyone who is interested in military vehicle
model building, painting, collecting and research. A free
exchange of resources, tips, techniques, knowledge and
reference materials is always emphasized.
Our members are interested in the
construction, development, history, characteristics, and
operational use of armored and other military vehicles from
World War I to the present, in all theatres of operation. Membership is open to all. No
application process is required. Just show up at a meeting.
NMMA meets officially on the second Saturday of each month from
7:00pm to 9:00pm, followed by a Chapter social.
Meeting attendance is not required for
membership. Long distance members can keep up to date with the
monthly club e-newsletter and in the club online forums. Love
of tanks and military vehicles essential. Sense of humor
required. Passion for war films a plus. Completion of a model
in the last ten years totally unnecessary.
NMMA meetings are a casual open
conversation on any and all related subjects. NMMA members
range from beginner to master, teen to sixty…. um, well,
really old. We pass around the newest model kits, the latest
books, and the coolest tools. We show our latest works in
progress, or not. We always share advice, tricks, tips, ideas,
techniques, and news. Each meeting features a shop demo on a
different technique, material, tool, or aspect of model
construction, painting, and weathering.
NMMA carpools to ten local shows a year
and a fantastic time is always guaranteed. The NMMA calendar
features the July lakeside cookout, the August museum road
trip, our show ARMORCON, and the always memorable Christmas
party. |
